meet farmer Ashley

Ashley Grosch is a Catholic Christian, wife, mother of four, functional wellness practitioner, and founder of The Farm Life. She is also the co-founder of Roots Restoration, where she works alongside individuals and families seeking a deeper understanding of their health through functional testing, education, nutrition, and individualized wellness support. At the heart of everything she does is a conviction that the body, mind, and soul were created by God with extraordinary purpose and should be cared for accordingly.

A graduate of the United States Naval Academy and former Naval officer, Ashley’s life has long been shaped by a call to service. She served nine years in the United States Navy before eventually finding that same call expressed in very different ways through motherhood, farming, functional wellness, and ministry. Though the outward form of her vocation has changed considerably over the years, the desire to serve others has remained a constant thread.

Ashley’s love for natural health began long before it became her vocation. She grew up with her hands in the soil of her grandmother’s victory garden and surrounded by the rhythms of life on her family’s dairy farm. Those early experiences planted a lifelong love of growing food, traditional herbal remedies, and the relationship between the health of the land and the health of the people it nourishes. Over time, that foundation grew into a deeper study of functional health and the body’s remarkable God-given capacity for restoration.

With more than a decade of experience in the wellness field, Ashley is trained as an ADAPT Practitioner through Chris Kresser, a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P), and a Certified Health Coach through the Dr. Sears Wellness Institute. She has also completed permaculture training through Cornell University, allowing her to bring together two passions that have shaped much of her life: regenerative agriculture and whole-person wellness. Her work has increasingly focused on complex and chronic health concerns, including gut health, detoxification, pediatric wellness, healthy aging and longevity, and supportive wellness care for individuals navigating cancer.

Ashley’s understanding of healing, however, has grown far beyond what can be measured on a laboratory report. After a lifelong journey of Christian faith, Ashley entered the Catholic Church in 2024, receiving the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Holy Communion. Her conversion profoundly deepened her understanding of surrender, suffering, healing, the sacramental life, and what it means to belong wholly to Christ. Catholicism is now inseparable from the way she understands her vocation: not simply as work to be accomplished, but as an opportunity to serve the person God has placed directly in front of her.

As a student at the Encounter School of Ministry, Ashley continues to deepen her formation in prayer and healing ministry and her understanding of what it means to make herself available to the Holy Spirit. She considers it a profound privilege to pray with others and to walk alongside people not only in the pursuit of physical wellness, but also through seasons of suffering, restoration, and renewed hope. Increasingly, she has come to understand that some of the deepest healing God accomplishes cannot be quantified by a laboratory value or contained within a wellness protocol.

Whether she is working with a wellness client, teaching a family, researching a complicated case, growing food, formulating products for The Farm Life, or simply praying with the person God has placed before her, Ashley desires the same thing: to serve with tenderness, pursue truth without fear, and point people toward the goodness of the God who created them.

Ashley works with individuals and families through Roots Restoration via telehealth while continuing to share practical education on functional wellness, traditional living, faith, family, and the lessons God continues to teach her through The Farm Life.
